Update:

A second version, Beta (Non-monster) is finished

  • New Spawn
  • Upgraded Visuals
  • New Boss stage
  • Totally new and reworked mid game
  • Added Music, ambient sounds & some experimental sounds
  • 4 spawns points, because of its huge proportions.
  • Added notifications, and more interacting triggers.
  • Inventory Items, some are experimental!

    Ready for mapping server.
    If things turn out to be properly working I will make a normal version with monsters, screenshots and additional decoration, either a general or eventually final version.

    Note: The teleporters present at spawn, left to the entrance link to first, second last spawnpoint! use can always teleport back to back to first spawn. All for testing purposes. Map is way too big for just 1 run through the map Razz.  
    Hope you like it, and comments are welcome!

EDIT: there might be a couple of monsters in the final temple, due proceeding order/map flow.
Don't worry they are low health, all for testing.

Maybe you can ask BlackWolf for permission to again access to the upload folder on the server, since you've been a server administator yourself for years! (XOLDOG 400)
Would be nice to have multiple persons in charge to upload maps, since BoB and BW are busy men, I guess :Zwinker:

Tried GoPostal's scanner, and it worked great. Opened doors, revealed switches... and crashed the map like 5 times before I gave up on it.

Also, that last shot right there... the bot who was following me couldn't get off the lift because of the way it's shaped.

Though, map doesn't seem to have much bot-pathing. Didn't look in UnrealEd, just noted bot behavior as I walked through.

At the far end there's a switch that opens a "control room" but I couldn't figure out where that place was.

All true Evilgrins. The guy, holding the sign, is the character/ skin I always use. Love the warboss skin, because it always smiles, no matter what move or taunt you make Very Happy1.  Â This is just a second preview version. Just want to make sure this build is working properly.  The previous build was a little bugged.  Botpathing, Monsters 'n stuff will be added after; when people has given their POV and commentary on this current version.  The control room is on your left, when you walk into the big cave with the cyan crystals, in the carved out hole/gap with the lift present in it. Or to make it easier: The opposing direction of the big mine gate. Glad you like it so far  Rolling Eyes After I red your post, I edited my post above. There are monsters (Low health ) present, but they are part of a gamplay-test.

I'll probably do more walkthroughs, it was fun poking around in there. Also, monster-wise, there's a setting in the AI where they avoid you. Basically follow you slightly but keep at a distance... which for simple display maps like yours as it is currently, might be a cool way to go...

Yeah I visited it with DoDo, but it's long to comment on with so much new stuff lol. Kinda sad some things were deleted but I agree that all the new ones are better. I especially like the new colorful lighting, and the open final area which will be very good for teamplay.

The only really bad thing imo is that I hate bumping against the weapon supports. I'd prefer them non-solid.

Again it'd be easier to discuss while walking in the map together. I should be easy to find now. ;)

Alright I played the whole map and I like most of it especially the ancient part but I found also several bugs / improvement points (IMO). It's all going to be constructive if it's about improvements and my own opinion so no need to change anything but it's just how I see it.

Not much of a problem but maybe there would be a way to make it go over in another texture differently.

So since it's a beta I understand not everything is finished and polished so that's why I pointed this whole list out since that's the point of a beta, it has to be all tested.
Overall really smooth map, fits dU perfectly in terms of space and I think you won't be subtle on the monsters neither but there's no need to.

Most of the bugs you pointed out are caused by crashes of UED. Since some of these are old bugs which are already solved in other versions :S. Textures are easily changed, HOMS and such are quite nasty things when you don't want to delete anything Crying or Very sad

Yes, I've had some time to play it through yesterday. Best would be to walk through it sometime.

The new areas look great, and the corridors really are an improvement. Nice job!

I found pretty much the same bugs and HOMs as Hellfire + a few extra (some minor details or personal preferences):
- In the crate with vials and ammo shown above the ammo sticks half into the floor, this happens on more places on the map
- The texture on the floating waterfall is IMHO not a good one, at least it should be speeded up a bit
- The pic above (the way about the water), in that room the waterfall textures are not alligned well, the two triangles are clearly visible
- the bottom at the second last pic above under water isn't aligned
- in the final scene there's an announcment: "Guardian releasing", I think this should be either "Guardian released!" or "Releasing Guardian" (and it might be in the screen like the lift message)
- In the final room the sides of (some of) the ramps are not aligned well (horizontal)
- I still think the red/green light switches should use speciallight rather than a lightcast on the floor before it.
- The lift in the big hole is too slow to jump up to the Redeemer Razz

New version almost ready, most of the bugs are fixed.
Having a Christmas vacation atm, maybe I can finish a general version just before the end of the year.

Does everyone like the new weapon setup(or to be non-solid like pointed out above) and spawnpoints configuration, or is it too much?
