YOu probably forgot about it, or were just busy, but MH-UnderwaterAssault still not working on the Main server. It crashed the server at a certain part, so we couldn't ever finish it. The map itself works fine on the Private server... so idk what's the problem.
THe other map is on the Main for a long while.. MH-U0cats++ You know this map also can't be finished. Its a shame because for me it looks good.. i like the colors and the textures on the map :/ Maybe someone could make a fixed version. I played it somewhere else, but we forced open things thats how i could see all the map. Ok i admit i barely can remember the end of it. Anyway, it's not working, should be removed imo. |

I played some times MH-UnderwaterAssault, but I dont see any crashes. The server crashes or a map bug (you can end it). ?
MH-U0cats++... yeah.. still a problem map. 3 times fixed but still buggy (I bet because of the doors). Would be nice if a mapper can take again a look at the map to fix the problem.
If not, the map will be removed

another pic of me inside
the two circles are the two walls that ur able to go through
Nothing that should be a concern but I wanted to inform u all

@ DJ: That's a BSP hole, easily fixed by placing BlockAll's there. If someone links me to a DL of the map I can have it fixed in about 5 seconds.
@Supa: U0 is actually an SP map that someone converted.
><
Maps like this usually don't work well because they weren't made for MH.
If someone gets Bill Spencer's permission, I'd be happy to fix it But only with permission, since I know a lot of SP mappers get their maps hijacked by MH mappers and don't like it :/ (Which is probably what happened here & is probably why it's buggy) |

SP maps are bugged in MH because SP mappers expect that you reload your game when you die, not come back to the place after respawning. |

It's more that we expect you not to die in the first place |

I am sorry if I interfere.
BlockAlls does not solve the BSP cuts. It only makes sure abselutely nothing cant pass the actor. No pawn, no actor, no projectile. Like a shield. Check the properties.
So that means you can still see them, but can not enter. Â To solve the cuts itself you must find out what brush / room / sheets (or whatever you would like to call it)
is causing the cuts. Sometimes you must tear the room in pieces to find the source of the problem.
And rebuild the map a few times. Takes a lot of time, but If you want to solve it, make sure it is 100% solved.

It depends on the BSP hole. In this case, it's a MUCH better idea to place blockalls there. I meant the PROBLEM would be fixed. No point tearing your hair out rebuilding over and over (And ending up with worse holes than you started with, like invisible collisions and instakill walls) when there's an easier fix. With this kind of hole, this way is a LOT smarter. No point tearing your hair out over something when you can take an easy way that is equally effective. |

Ok I little agree with that, maybe these are just two 'tiny' bsp holes. But you get my point? Better solve it 100%,rather dan 50%
And what the smartest thing to do is, up to the mapper. Players would like to see maps with architectue that is right, and is well textured. A bsp cut is a needle in the eye.
And as long bsp cuts exist in the map.... the map stays a bit unstable.

Attempting to fix BSP on a map you don't know is likely to take a lot of time, and can be a worse cure than the disease when rebuilding creates new errors, again because it's a map you don't know. It's possible that the mapper had various troubles with the BSP when making the map and the version you found online was the stablest one he could make.
If it's not annoying in game it's probably not worth your time. |

I heard BSP cuts mostly happen if brushes arent crorrectly gridded.
Remember that you can rightclick on any pivot of builder brushes to snap them to the grid correctly.
This also works with already built brushes but only on the center pivot ... . |

its not really annoying.... However i played HuntersFinal again and I notice something
I didnt took a screenshot this time so i used one of the other screen shots. You enter a area where u have to eliminate all of the monsters that keeps respawning or sumthing like that before u can go on to the next area. To prevent players from going on to the next area, there's a door that's kept shut until all of the monster are killed. But because there is a ummm BSP???? (i dont understand stand any of the mapping bullshit language) Any player can use this short cut to go pass the door and through the hall with more monsters which i think is a bunch of useless nibbling flys and you can go through the rest of the map while the others are still at that one area
Should this be a concern?
yellow lines is where the door is
BSP spots in red and access tunnel in brown |

Cache Ripped it and fixed it, took all of 30 seconds lol
Didn't rebuild anything so no new errors should appear, just spammed BlockAlls at the walls around where DJ showed in his screenage. |

Or just use one or two BlockAlls with bigger radius, saves time |

Yeah but then you get circular collision on Square Walls. This way players walking right up against the wall will find it less noticable |

not really, just increase the collision intelligently, it's easy to use a single blockall and keep the flat surface of it hitting one wall. |
