again this well-known by many, but many still dont know how to do it ... its about how to listen music from UT (UT99) maps off-game(?) n preferable as mp3
ok, there r thousends of ways to do that (i know some of them, dunno if better ones, i guess not, anybody can complete here other ways they know)
(almost) all know that music from UT stand in .umx files; those can be played directly from specialized players/trackers (MODPlug Player, XMPlay, ...) or even on some common/universal players (maybe on some with some plugins); above ones, MODPlug n XMPlay r free, sry that i dunno links/urls right now (u sure will find them if u search on web) anybody know its can post them here if ill do not it meantime ...
.umx files r just a kind of archive n some few archivers (dont remember right now which ones) can open them, i personaly use "Unreal Service Package Explorer", n inside them r "module" music files (sry dunno to explain, other can do it), what can be extracted/saved n also played directly with above players or others; UT(99) editor can do also some few things sry forgot which ones i didnt used it for ages (i play from an UT installation since 4(!) windows installations ago, lol, n my editor is broken) ...
so i usually extract them with USPE (handier for me for some reasons, can browse cache files (.uxx) also, ...)
those module music files (.xm, .s3m, .mod, .it, .... blah) u can convert into .wav files with many apps (i last time used MODPlug Tracker)
and .wav into .mp3? thousends of ways! (i last used AIMP2 (is a player (free!) with few utilities, radio recorder, converter, ...)
u want to listen music from files played online? np, USPE can again help u! also UT Cache Cleaner; with USPE is a bt annoying cos u have to browse .uxx files till u find the music/song u want, can be helpful if u know name of song; with UTCC u can see extensions of files from cache .unr, .umx, ... (oops sry must go out some, later)

| You can just open UnrealED (need version 436) and click on the and open the ''umx.'' you want. |

I use modplug
Very easy. Plays all mods, also umx files.
AND : has a button [Save as Wav] after this you have yout (ut) mod music  as wav and can be easy convert to mp3
More a old scholl player.
AND : IS FREE!

ok ty Wolfy (id add this though) (also most used by me too for module music files (still didnt see/check Hyp's choice ...))
also links for:
-UT Cache Cleaner 3 - (dunno if there still is an official page and whats that but nm as long is here too) (for extracting .umx files (also other files too) from cache)
-AIMP2 - (player, converter, recorder ... free :d)
-XMPlay - (plays module music files (along other formats); not sure about anything else, as conversion ..., i guess not)
(MODPlug Tracker became OpenMPT with homepage here not nedeed for this topic purpose, only for a bit more advanced users)
-USPE (Unreal Services Package Explorer) - (with it can browse and save from, inside some UT files, .uxx (cache files), .umx ...)

well ... now about other thing ... anyway u can complete anytime that about/related to music aswell ...
its about installing new mods, mutators, ... (mutators r a type/kind of mods too, isnt? generic name for everything is .umod?), for testing, playing SP, on LAN, ...
ok, there r 2 main (or only?) methods to do that, one is (should be so ) double-clicking the .umod file; the other one wud be from a NON-umod archive (usually
.zip one), my prefered one; why NON-umod? cos if is a/some .umod file/s inside archive is still MOD type(?) of mod; so should be inside archive a folder structure
as in your UT folder as/for u can call/name it/s NON-umod ...
well, what about if u have only the UMOD version?; again there is a solution as u install kinda-manually, a small app called UMOD Browser
helping u to see first whats inside mod (what files) n preview few type of files from UMOD B. be4
installing/extracting them; not 100% sure but almost! (damn forgot) if files from your UT folder r overwriten ... u can make copies of those what r in your UT folder n inside
the .umod file too, be4 u extract them (ye i know, im kinda masochist) ... the advantage wud be that u dont broke/lose/... some of your files (settings? ...)
but there is a disadvantage too (i guess) (if im right i never installed double-clicking the .umod file) n its about some settings (i said!, i mainly guess)
what cud be made when u install them in/on the normal way (double-clicking)  (im almost sure thats the reason for why some dont work 100% well for me)
more u can see on that webpage (above link) (again u can complete, or even correct, that post (ofc in your own post/s haha)) |

lol sry Potsy, though the link was good, the only problem was the semicolon right imediately after link so is (still)
