THis is my new project; is true that there are another map called Minas Tirith, but look as Osgiliath (is the old capital of the kingdom of Gondor)
Some picts from the real Minas Tirith
This map will take time, but would be great, i hope
Maybe community can help with textures or decos. |

The funny thing is that due to the origin of the city in a book everybody can have a different view of the city. Yet the book clearly states Minas Tirith as being build up a slope, so the original MH-MinasTirith does not comply. For that map to be Osgiliath it lacks a bridge I think. I actually thought it was Minas Mogul (where the Nazgul are housed), although there too it lacks cliffs but from the map it is very clear that the author didn't care about the surroundings much and just focused on the castle.
Peter Jackson's (well, I guess he didn't design the city himself) representation of the book is great, still I hope for this project I hope you'll be inspired by the book and you can build the city you imagine. |

Yay, nice idea. This map called Minas Tirith is ugly as hell.
Good luck, can't wait. |

Rork is not necesary your story, these comments do not help me because they point to the controversy. The post was created for those who want help with some texture, image, decoration or ideas. for anything else.
you are free to discuss anything you want but do it in another post. Thx |

| I think you are the indicated for this kind of map (big and well decorated). You always made great big maps, I think you will make a great job with this one as well. |

rork post is perfectly fine TB.
Also my advice ~ these 2 photos you posted are good reference but you will have to do an extreme reduction on details to prevent lag. The textures used in the already existing Minas Tirith maps are pretty good for simulating details. |

My story was primarily meant as an example to how different people can have different views based on the same thing.
For textures I'm more known with CTF maps:
eol.utx (standard), see CTF-[New]Venus
skytown.utx (standard), see CTF-Vandora-LE101 which also has some nice walls myleveled.
Maybe you can track down the texture pack used in (3 images near the end of the first post) |

Are you shooting for it as a DM or an MH?
If you go MH, the monsters have to try and break into the city or it doesn't make sense.
There's another LotR MH map that does this pretty well, that other fortress in the Two Towers that I forgrt the name of, where the monsters try to storm the castle... but while well done it's not a pretty map. |

Yeah but EvilGrins have reason, is not pretty map, have many buggys, anyway i dont remember do the fix3, i made the fix 4 long time ago. Anyway i wanted make the remake, I had the terrain built. But i needed ork monsters, working well ( without the use of Human.u package or SevenB.u)
About Minas Tirith, I have not decided if the monsters will fall within or outside the fortress, because I can quietly change history and say that the Orks or monsters took Minas Tirith and the goal is to recover it. I dont Know yet, first I will focus on the construction and later the argument. |

The both Minas tirith maps which are avaible have nothing to do with the LotR Minas tirith.
I miss the high of the castle and the long way up there the tree is. This is what is the main thing for me in Minas tirith.

Last weekend i watched the komplete extended LotR Bluerays.
And I think thet the both Minas tirith maps looks more like "Pelennor" ( the destroyed city in front of Minas tirith), and not the  Minas tirith castle.
Would be great to to have a real  Minas tirith map  Â
btw
THUNDERBOLT did a great job with Helm's Deep map. I looked a details at watching the movie. It looks like the one at the movie
Only one different. At TB map the door to the big courtyard explodes after a while.
At the orginal there is no door, the Wall explodes because of explosive.
But its a vbery great map
