I have a list of good maps that might suit the Main when they are tested on Mapping since I want some more new ones on.
Already on mapping:
MH-Golgotha
MH-Asmodeus_Aions
MH-(ZM)INFERNO
MH-(ZM)MACHINE
MH-Skaarjs_Graveyard
MH-UM-EgyptianX1
MH-UM-BreakinOut1
MH-Bluff
I think they're all bugless and ready to go?
Download below:
MH-Lego-VS-Mario-2D&3D
MH-MonsterHunterzV3
MH-MonsterHuntMayhem
MH-Redemption
MH-StarshipTroopers_FIX
MH-Toon3D
MH-AremisX
MH-CitadelV2{fix}
MH-Crimson

Already on Mapping:
Golgotha is fine. I only played it recently.
Data said there are things missing compared to the AS version, but personally I don't care enough to try looking and fixing.
Asmodeus has 2 problems for me:
First, the 3 tentacles at start with stupid high HP. You might not consider this a problem, but that's really a huge one for me. It delays the start of the map, and it's here for no reason. It's totally inconsistent with the rest of the map, as if it was added by another person (sadly it's not).
Multiply this waste of time by the number of times this map would be voted on the server. It sure is small compared to ATA or BoomBoom, but these are a lost cause and now I'm trying not to make things worse.
Second, the very laggy fog section near the end.
These 2 things could be easily fixed, however, the mapper is still around (albeit rarely), and therefore I won't touch it. It was the same with Mouse's Backhome2007 back then for those who remember (though Mouse really seems to be missing now).
I could have broken this rule if I felt the map was so good that Main absolutely needed to have it, but like all maps in your list, I don't. Personal opinion of course.
ZacMan's 2 maps have terrible gameplay. Rooms are too small, forcing everyone to die to rocket skaarjs over and over, people can't use lifts everybody at once, keep falling in lava when monsters shoot because there's no place to stand on, and the list goes on.
ZacMan is still around too. If he comes back and makes his maps playable then sure, but right now no way.
Skaarjs Graveyard is a long series of corridors with little action. It works as a coop map, but for dU it's confusing and boring. It's unfixable.
EgyptianX is bad.
I could respect some choices if the mapper was experienced, but he's not, and therefore I'm not going to comply with all the mistakes.
First there's no reason the music file should be 10x the size of the map. DO NOT DO THIS.
And of course, the gameplay is bad. Pupaes jump in the lake at spawn, making clear bonus horribly tedious to obtain (not the mapper's fault but something to take into account for dU), and the skaarjs in the last area force you to die.
These are all small fixes, but the map is also so small that it wouldn't be the same anymore. So at this point I prefer forgetting it.
BreakinOut is about the same thing.
It would still be bad after fixing and we don't need more bad maps. We really don't.
Bluff you know my stance, but for others: it's too open and confusing. People would complain all the time that they're lost and don't understand what to do.
I haven't looked at the other maps yet.
Anything that doesn't look like an actual map is already out in my book though (Lego, Toon). Puzzles should never become a precedent (and I still want it removed). Fine for Crazy though. |

The things missed wont affect the map anyways, there are just some useless things that only works on Assault version and the converter forgot to remove, even the SpecCamera

With a big team wont be a "great" issue

No fog for me, just disable it on ut.ini, so i didnt get lag on that area... However, last time when tested with some player, that player crashed some times due for that effect of the Flak Turret at the middle of the room.

Its challenging enough, thats why i liked it and the titan with 30 skaarjs at the end looked better too. In my opinion (if i can give one), the server needs more challenging maps, there are a lot of them easier already like ones of HTD series... if disagreeing, consider me as "nothing as i said".

Bluff is likely adding some useful infos, but its a challenging map, i think some players might remember of it from Unreal series, its not too big if we compare to Skaarj Tower for example. Skaarj Tower is fine too, even with teleports for helping, its enormous and really possible for players being lost and another issue of that map is about the time, 2 hours are not enough to complete that one. (Saying this when you get a newcomer team) And saying again, challenging maps are nice! All day, HTD and ATA and BBB being voted... bah!
Well, its just my opinion. |

My opinions are:
Golgotha - OK
Asmodeus - OK (plays good for me even with fog)
Inferno / Machine - Not sure about these neither, if Zacman can fix them up a bit they will be fine
Skaarjs_Graveyard - OK (last time I played it it had enough monsters to be playable for the main)
Egyptian - Nice little map if the ever spawning pupaes were less and the end works
BreakingOut - CRAP
Bluff - OK (tbh if people bother to learn it it's easy)
The others have to be tested on mapping to be sure apart from MH-MonsterHuntMayhem which I played tons of times on another server. |

Hyperion wrote (View Post): | What about MH-Sky_Isles which is on Mapping also?
It's a nice-looking map and not too confusing. Good enough for Main.
Or not? |
Ah nice one... its ok for me, more opinions? |

lol, forgot that one.
Seems a fine map, maybe less spawning Skaarjs on the ending since it ruins perfect teamscore. |
