Since the chatlog didn't seem to help at all I thought I might try it here in a more organized environment.
Could any of the admins reset the records on the main server and do (I'm assuming) the majority of the players a favour.
Most of the old records are done with 12+ players and different players which means most of them are close to impossible now.
I think it will stimulate some players to put some more effort in their play perhaps and it was fun before trying to break records again and again.
After a few years a fresh start of records is not bad for the server neither IMO.
Anyone who is against this or supports this idea is welcome to post.

I fully agree with this 100%. I think most people know by now that I don't play for points and I spend almost all of my time having a laugh with other players, but having records that can be broken again would be great.
I was on the server the other day with the strongest lineup of players I'd seen for a long, long time, yet they still failed to break the record on that map.
The old records are all well and good, but we can't even see who set them so I really do think it's time they were reset. It might also keep players in the server for longer and entice them to come back and try to break records. |

As much as I agree that points should go because this is a team mode and not about individual scoring, I'm sure the removal of player scores would stop a lot of players coming to the server.
That's not really a risk a gameserver for a game this old can take. |

Don't derail people's threads please.
Record reset is probably good. I'm just worried about losing the old data. Ideally there would be stuff like seasons, were seasonal records and all time records would be stored but i'm not the one doing the work anyway.  |

| I've never, ever have put any attention for records and score on main. But resetting individual score will upset a lot of people I think. Especially the players who worked really hard to be the best. Anyway I agree anyway as long the people will have new achievements to go for. Should be a win-win right? |

Very neat idea to keep the best record ever set as an optional display on the screen but I'm not sure there's any coders *cough BoB* who can bother to do that  |

Agree with maps records reset. Even with seasonal resets.

There's time to put a map on the server (in a surprising respectable time) but not to reset the records..
All votes are positive for the idea and still not even a reply.
At least take the time to reply so we know what's up.
If you're busy don't run a server and community, there has to be at least one person who listens to what's going on on the forums or servers. |

Well...as far i know a Community is made by many People and here are many posts possible. Just few need a Admin's actions like Reset all records and, despite all, is not so easy like upload a Map since it need a job of data mining on a Huge SQL database (even i'm not an expert).
Anyway, if it may help, i can write a message on Skype to Bob and Wolfy to focus their attention on this Post. I'm sure they'll take a look as soon is possible.

It's not the fact that ''no one cares'' it's the fact that most of the time suggestions and idea's take literally days if not weeks to get a response. And I'm sure people who play on the server and are not registered here will appreciate it also if the records are resetted.
The record in your link is a joke record, I'm talking about a lot of other maps that are unbeatable or hard to beat.
Also the main reason for me was having new records with the current set of players and not those from year(s) ago.

As I said before, it's not a main priority but it would please me and other players.
Noone is against the idea so it won't hurt anyone anyways. It can only make things better instead worse.
There's no need to contact them using skype or anything else, this is the forum where it should be awnsered so don't do any effort.
I don't know if it's a lot of work to reset, but even if it is that was the reason for my last post, to get a reply so I'm informed.
Last thing is I'm not angry or overreacting, I'm just trying to set a statement here that some regular forum/server checks wouldn't be bad. There have been several incidents with misbehaving players (swearing, tk's etc) when there's no single admin around. Lately I admit there's more activity of admins but before there wasn't.
I'll leave it with this my fingers start to hurt. |

Well, I'm still considering when I should re-launch my CU project. A lot of people like to see it online again.
But ever since BW talked to me about certain matters back in the days, it did really did change my way of thinking about administrating things. There are two things that really should remain seperate: The online, and the real life. They should never cross.
The admins are probably busy right now. Take your time and a reply will follow ;)

Who did the survey?you do not have to collect a million players to improve record. Collect some good players and every record will be yours. reset record maps will change nothing.
option for people who want to improve all the time records are private server (which does not exist) |
