The dU servers have been running 'staff free' for some time now and I wondered what the players thought about how things are.

Are you happy with the more relaxed server atmosphere, or are staff needed to keep control of things?

In my opinion we can use one active player for Staff to keep a little more control (teamkilling, swearing etc).
I'm not saying I'm never doing one of these but still one active Staff (at least) would improve a lot of things.

I think staff are a good idea, but remember the previous situation with the staff? That should not happen again.


I have also an idea for the mapvote. When a map has been played/finished a user can give a feedback about the map they just played.
For example : Someone ruins the nice gameplay with teamshooting or being annoying, and they can report it. That makes it for the staff alot easier to keep an eye out for specific players.
And of course they can also tell what they think about the map, if it is a poo map or a good map.

Well, actually several people think in this way lately. So I think staff is not a bad idea. And i also agree, we don't need too many people for it. Just 1-2 who can "police" the server and make it a more "friendly" and better place without stupid players abusing the normal ones. Because it happens, pretty often nowdays.
OK the situation is not that bad also its relaxed Smile  so i think it can run without staff, but sometimes it can be really terrible how people behave. so having staff is not negative

I had more fun without staff, to be honest. I didn't feel like I was being continually watched. The atmosphere is a lot more relaxed without staff members taking the game far too seriously.

People were getting told off for stupid reasons quite often. It's a game. If there's someone on the server annoying you, go and do something else. Staff aren't really needed any more.

It shouldn't be a prison neither with guards watching every second Razz

Tbh I think if one (or) two of the Staff would visit different times a day and play a bit would be enough.

Yes, I think so Smile The server don't need to be watched all day, and i also agree on some point with Ninja, but sometimes people behavior disgusted me and i left the server, and NO, if someone acts stupid, its not me who has to leave imo. I can't stand people swearing at me or others for no reason.

I think its better to try and sort the problem out at the point that it happens though. Plus we have a specific area of the forums to post about any problem players.
