I remember a while back when there'd be a poll on the forums where everyone would vote their top 10 (I think) favourite maps. These would be put into the fourth column for voting. And we all know new people tend to pay a lot of attention to the fourth column.

I was just thinking that maybe we could do that again? Some really, really good maps are being completely ignored whereas horrible, spammy maps are always played. I just think it'd be nice to be able to play maps like Hellfire, Cygma, Maboroshi, Cregor etc, more. Instead of all these HTD maps, Godz and Ataa0.

Why are people voting no? I don't understand the logic behind that. The maps the community likes would be up for voting twice... where's the bad side to that? To the people voting no, why are you doing so?

if it is to be fairly 4 column should be the most popular maps.

This system used to be used on the server for a short while and me and Demona agreed that it worked really well. Some of the awesome, lesser played maps were finally being played again. People did a weekly (or was it monthly?) vote about which maps they wanted in the column. Then they'd change again the next week.

The point of the 4th column is to bring the attention of players on specific maps, especially for new or casual players who never know what to vote, don't know which maps are good, or never scroll in the vote list for whatever reason.

We do this to introduce new maps easily, but we also do this when we want to incite people to play underrated maps more.
When more different maps are played throughout the day, the server is less boring. Exclamation

Ninja I don't know why you put that poll.

Theres no reason why we cant use the 4th column for new and also for top/fav maps. I think thats the heading anyway. The problem from an admin point of view is that its a pain to update the mapvote ini to display the maps. Each one has to be typed manually, and the server has to be restarted to copy over the new file.
